Although October is best known for being breast cancer awareness month - even PF Changs got into the spirit by painting their iconic horses pink! - it is also the month of "Archtober", national architecture and design month.
Sarasota of course has plenty to boast about when it comes to architecture and it appears that it is right on trend. Take a look around the Crate and Barrel store at the new University Town Center mall and you can instantly tell that mid-century modern is en vogue.
As part of the festivities, The Sarasota Architectural Foundation hosted the inaugural SarasotaMod weekend, a four-day celebration of Sarasota's unique architectural heritage.

Google picks Sarasota as Florida's leading e-city this year. This award acknowledges Sarasota as having the strongest combined e-commerce, social media, and web presence within the state of Florida.
